Ram 1500 Tradesman Towing Capacity

The Tradesman trim is a no-frills option. It's the quintessential workhorse, delivering the highest possible towing capacity in the lineup. It can be built with the standard 3.6-liter engine, but the available regular-output 3.0-liter powertrain, along with the following options, is how you'll hit its 11,600-pound towing potential1:

  • Drivetrain: 4x2
  • Cab: Quad
  • Box: 6 feet, 4 inches
  • Axle Ratio: 3.92

Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE Towing Capacity

The Tradesman HFE is a more targeted model. It only comes with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, rear-wheel drive, a Quad Cab, and a 6-foot-4-inch box. This configuration caps your towing capacity at 8,480 pounds.1

Ram 1500 Big Horn Towing Capacity

The Big Horn is an icon of the Ram 1500 world. It perfectly balances premium touches with serious capability. At this level, you're maximum towing is 11,570 pounds with the available Hurricane engine and the following configuration:

  • Drivetrain: 4x2
  • Cab: Quad
  • Box: 6 feet, 4 inches
  • Axle Ratio: 3.92
Ram 1500 Warlock, Ram 1500 Laramie, and Ram 1500 Rebel Towing Capacity

Ram 1500 Warlock Towing Capacity

Unlike the previous models, the Warlock comes standard with the standard-output 3.0-liter Hurricane, and it's the first in the lineup to come only as a 4x4 model. It also only comes with a Crew Cab and a 5-foot-7-inch bed. However, you'll need to opt for the 3.92 axle ratio to get its maximum towing capacity of 11,200 pounds.1

Ram 1500 Laramie Towing Capacity

The Laramie follows the path set by the Warlock, venturing forth with the Hurricane engine and Crew Cab as its standard and only options in those categories. However, it gives you a choice of bed size and drivetrain. Below is the setup you'll need to haul up to its maximum of 11,400 pounds 1:

  • Drivetrain: 4x2
  • Bed: 5 feet, 7 inches
  • Axle Ratio: 3.92

Ram 1500 Rebel Towing Capacity

The Rebel is very similar to the Warlock in that it's only available with the 3.0-liter Hurricane, 4x4, a Crew Cab, and a 5-foot-7-inch box. Choose the available 3.92 axle ratio for this truck, and you can hitch up to 11,140 pounds behind it.

Ram 1500 RHO, Ram 1500 Limited, Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn, and Ram 1500 Tungsten Towing Capacity

Ram 1500 RHO Towing Capacity

With the RHO trim, you'll get more horsepower per dollar than any other premium off-road full-size pickup.2 This is due to it swapping out the standard Hurricane engine for the high-output variant. It shares the drivetrain, cab, and bed options configuration of the Rebel and Warlock, but the engine swap caps its towing potential at 8,380 pounds. 1

Ram 1500 Limited Towing Capacity

As we near the top of the lineup, you'll find that high-output Hurricane as standard. While the Limited model is only available with a 4x4 system and Crew Cab, you can select its bed size. To leverage its full 10,050-pound towing potential, you'll need the 6-foot-4-inch box and 3.92 axle ratio.

Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn Towing Capacity

The Limited Longhorn has the same configuration as the Limited model: standard 4x4 and a 5-foot 7-inch box with a 6-foot 4-inch upgrade available. Despite its similar build to the Limited trim, the Limited Longhorn can tow more at 10,770 pounds.

Ram 1500 Tungsten Towing Capacity

Sitting at the top of the new Ram 1500 lineup is the Tungsten. It's the most feature-rich of the bunch, but it can only be built with the high-output 3.0-liter engine, 4x4 drivetrain, Crew Cab, and 5-foot-7-inch bed. Here, you can tow up to 9,150 pounds1 while sitting in the lap of luxury.
