The 2026 Ram 1500 is a versatile pickup that can pull like a pro. As mentioned above, it has a maximum towing capacity of 11,610 pounds.1 However, certain build factors will impact this number.
For instance, axle ratio, vehicle weight rating, packages, trim level, drivetrain, and engine are some of the most prominent elements that affect the Ram 1500 towing capacity. Let's start with the model's four engine options and their maximum towing prowess:
- 3.6-Liter Pentastar V-6: 8,130 pounds1
- 3.0-Liter Hurricane I-6: 11,610 pounds1
- High-Output 3.0-Liter Hurricane I-6: 10,000 pounds1
- 5.7-Liter HEMI V-8: 11,320 pounds1
The actual towing capacities of each trim will vary depending on the previously mentioned elements, along with the cab style of the truck. The Tradesman trim is a no-frills option. It's the quintessential workhorse, delivering a capable standard towing capacity of 7,660 pounds when properly equipped with the standard 3.6-liter engine and the following options:

- Axle Ratio: 3.21
Ram 1500 Express Towing Capacity
The Express is similar to the Tradesman in that it also comes equipped with the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6, rear- or four-wheel drive, a Quad or crew Cab, and a 6-foot-4-inch or 5-foot 7-inch box. This configuration also kicks off with a capable 7,660-pound towing capacity1 with just standard equipment (4x2, Quad Cab, and a 6-foot-4-inch box).
Ram 1500 Warlock Towing Capacity
The Warlock is an off-road-oriented model, featuring standard 4x4 performance along with the 3.6-liter V-6. It also only comes with a Crew Cab and a 5-foot-7-inch bed. All of these elements work together to offer a 6,370-pound towing capacity.1 While this value is a bit lower than other models, this is due to the heavier components and equipment that add weight and prioritize capability over trailering.
Ram 1500 Big Horn Towing Capacity
The Big Horn is an icon of the Ram 1500 world. It perfectly balances premium touches with serious capability. At this level, the standard towing capacity comes in at 6,680 pounds when properly equipped with these base-level elements:

- Cab: Quad
- Box: 6 feet, 4 inches
- Axle Ratio: 3.21
Ram 1500 Laramie Towing Capacity
The Laramie is another stunning edition, venturing forth with 4x2 or 4x4 and a standard Crew Cab. However, you do get to choose between a 5-foot, 7-inch box or a 6-foot, 4-inch box. In its standard configuration, the 2026 Ram 1500 Laramie can tow a capacity of 8,300 pounds when properly equipped. This can be achieved with the 3.0-liter Hurricane engine and the 3.21 axle ratio option.
