What Are Jeep Easter Eggs?

What Are Jeep Easter Eggs?

Jeep Easter eggs have been around for decades, starting with a small grille accent, a nod to the iconic seven-bar Jeep grille. From there, the Easter eggs multiplied and can now be found in almost all new and used models from the brand. It's impossible to determine the exact number of Easter eggs on a Jeep model because most are hidden, waiting to be discovered by an eagle-eyed driver.

The main purpose of these Easter eggs is whimsy for whimsy's sake. The Jeep brand is, after all, one of the most fun-loving automakers, with a rich and storied place in American military history and a dedication to embracing the adventurous spirit of going anywhere. Some Easter eggs are tributes to the manufacturing process. Others pay homage to the Jeep brand's roots. Many of the Easter eggs also reflect the rugged, trailblazing image of these vehicles throughout the decades.

The Most Common Jeep Easter Eggs

Although the point of Jeep Easter eggs is to provide delightful variety, putting a unique stamp on each model, there is one that you will almost always see: Every Jeep vehicle with Easter eggs will inevitably have the mini seven-slot grille. It usually appears inside the headlights, taillights, and windshield, but some Jeep models find clever hiding spots in other parts of the vehicle. You might see a tiny seven-slot grille symbol inside a cup holder, on the dashboard, or even etched onto a floor mat.

At Tony T CDJR of Gulfgate, we like to encourage our customers to have fun with the Jeep Easter egg hunt. How many can you find? This is also a great game to play with the kids, adding a bit of fun on long drives in your Jeep truck or SUV.

Jeep Easter Eggs by Model

Easter eggs will vary from model to model, adding an adventurous spin to your hunt. The Jeep Grand Cherokee, for example, is known for its "Since 1941" message and small Willys Jeep silhouette on the rear window of three-row models. A gecko appears in several models, including the Jeep Compass, as a symbol of the intense "grip" Jeep-brand vehicles have on terrain when off-roading. While each Jeep vehicle already comes with a unique character, these little stamps make each model feel even more special.

If you don't currently drive a Jeep model that you can explore for Easter eggs, we invite you to take our quick tour of these Jeep models. Don't hesitate to ask our sales team questions about where to find any of the Easter eggs discussed in the sections below.

Jeep Cherokee Easter Eggs

Jeep Cherokee Easter Eggs

Let's begin with one of the most iconic Jeep models in the lineup. The Jeep Cherokee, of course, features the traditional seven-slot grille, which can be found under the hood, on the bag hooks (for select models), and possibly in other secret locations. The Willys Jeep silhouette appears on the windshield, a tiny, intrepid outline traversing a rocky landscape.

Coordinates and a map may be visible underneath the passenger seat of a Jeep Cherokee. Follow the coordinates to Rubicon Trail, and use the map to navigate around it. On the side rails, you might also see a "NO STEP" sign.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Easter Eggs

The Grand Cherokee is an SUV that comes with many Jeep Easter eggs. For starters, you'll notice the typical seven-slot grille on the windshield and the words "Since 1941" etched twice on the dashboard. A Willys Jeep silhouette can be spotted on the third-row window (in three-row models), along with Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L shapes. SUVs manufactured for the US market have a small American flag behind the Grand Cherokee nameplate. Certain trim levels also feature a seriously cool topographical map in one of the storage compartments. On the outside, you might see the words "NO STEP" on the side rails.

Jeep Wrangler Easter Eggs

Exploring Jeep Easter egg locations is especially fun in the Jeep Wrangler, where the tradition started. Between the windshield wipers and inside the headlights, you will see the iconic grille. The Jeep silhouette also appears multiple times, most noticeably on the edge of your windshield, as well as on the gear shifter for select models. "Since 1941" shows up on the instrument display when you start your ignition, and the list goes on.

Jeep Renegade Easter Eggs

Jeep Renegade Easter Eggs

Something about the Renegade inspired Jeep automakers to think outside of the box. For starters, its taillights feature an "X" design, paying homage to the gas cans that Jeep models carried around during World War II. You can schedule a test drive to say hello to the spider under the gas cap with a voice balloon saying, "Ciao Baby!" An outline of a small Bigfoot can also be found on the rear window.

Check the coin cubby for a map of Moab, an iconic national park in Utah that doubles as a popular off-roading destination. These Easter eggs are merely the tip of the iceberg; you'll surely find more after you drive your Jeep model home.

Jeep Gladiator Easter Eggs

The Jeep Gladiator pickup truck has plenty of Easter eggs for you to find. As with all Jeep models, the seven-slot grille is featured on the headlights, tailgate, and between the wiper blades. If you're looking for the grille in that last spot, look closer to find a pair of flip-flops! The original Willys Jeep is also featured on the windshield and is available with specific wheels.

Many Gladiator models have a heart and "419" on the edge of the truck bed. The number is actually the area code for the Jeep manufacturing plant in Toledo, OH, a distinct find for Jeep Easter egg decals. We'll point it out to you when you view the inventory at our Jeep dealer in Houston, TX.

Jeep Compass Easter Eggs

The Jeep Compass is another model with a wide assortment of Easter eggs. When touring the new Jeep inventory, be sure to look for its seven-slot grilles, the gecko lurking beneath the windshield wipers, and even an outline of the Loch Ness Monster on the rear windshield. If you opt for the automatic transmission, the footrest is adorned with Morse code, a nod to the historic Jeep involvement in World War II. The code spells out "Sand, Snow, Rivers, Rocks."

Specific Jeep Compass vehicles also have the Willys Jeep, but in a less common spot – it can be found under the hood!
